The Dark Queen has risen. War is coming.
Desperate to save her people and secure allies, Kitarni
must forge her position as leader of the coven and lady of Mistvellen. The only way to do that is to marry him.

The man who betrayed her … and the one who has her heart.

With demons roaming the land and humans on a witch hunt, their only means of
survival lies in Death’s fabled crown. The only problem is, it’s hidden in the Under World, and the price of entry might be too much to bear. Only the cursed one can save her people. Only the wolf lord can save her.

Rating: 4 out of 5.

“𝐈 𝐰𝐚𝐬 𝐧𝐨 𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐜𝐡, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐬𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫. 𝐍𝐞𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐧𝐨𝐫 𝐝𝐞𝐚𝐝, 𝐛𝐮𝐭 𝐚 𝐧𝐞𝐰 𝐛𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐨𝐬.”

The epic finale to The Cursed Blood duology – the stakes are higher, the romance is spicier and the magic is deadlier. Kitarni was betrayed and left brokenhearted by Dante, but Dante is still her betrothed and she is forced to engage with him. Hungarian folklore is weaved between the pages and creates a magical atmosphere. The characters are pushed to their limits when the Dark Queen threatens to return and the search for the legendary crown proves to be deadly.

I was gripped when I read the first book, but the second book had me wishing I could read faster. I needed to know what happens next but at the same time I didn’t want the story to end. This dark fantasy has a morally grey character, witches, dark magic, spice and wolves – what more can you ask for. Dante’s caring and protective nature towards Kitarni is exactly why we readers have book boyfriends. I loved every moment of this story, there was never a dull moment in this fast paced fantasy – near the end my heart was in my throat of anticipation. I loved it!

I definitely recommend reading this if you are a fan of Jennifer L. Armentrout, Sarah J. Maas or dark fantasy, you won’t be able to put this book down.

Thank you MTMC Tours and the author for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Australia, receiving recognition as a high performing
student in the top 10 percentile. She was a finalist for
the Julie Duncan Memorial Award, and holds a lifetime
membership to the Golden Key International Honour
Society. Hodge then proceeded to work for the Australian Broadcast Corporation (ABC) as a radio producer in Adelaide, before spending some time in regional SA as a broadcast news reporter. She now spends her time crafting fantastical novels brimming with magic and
mystery, and building worlds rich with colour and history. Hodge creates a character cast full of underdogs and the morally grey—always seeking to triumph over evil, or perhaps live long enough to see them become it.
