The living cannot be allowed to infect the dead. Adam Binder has lost what matters most to him. Having finally learned the true identity of the warlock preying on his family, what was supposed to be a final confrontation with the fiend instead became a trap that sent Vic into the realm of the dead, where none living are meant to be. Bound by debt, oath, and love, Adam blazes his own trail into the underworld to get Vic back and to end the threat of the warlock once and for all.

But the road to hell is paved with more than good intentions. Demons are hungry and ghosts are relentless. What awaits Adam in the underworld is nothing he is prepared to face. If that weren’t enough, Adam has one more thing he must do if he and Vic are to return to world of the living: find the lost heart of Death herself.

My thoughts

Rating: 4 out of 5.

Deadbeat Druid is the third book in the Adam Binder series and what a treat this book was! I first saw this series on Bookstagram and after reading everyone’s thoughts about the books, I knew I had to meet Adam and Vic. The world-building is excellent, I was taken by the descriptions and felt like I was walking alongside Adam. The disappointment of returning to real life when putting the book down 😀

This series has something for everyone – ghosts, elves, witches and warlocks. In this instalment, there is a dangerous trip and a rescue event. I’m keeping it spoiler free but I thoroughly enjoyed this book. The Adam Binder trilogy is worth the hype! Read it! Along the way, Adam comes to face with familial problems and we get some backstory to some characters. This makes for super interesting reading! A lot happens from Vic’s POV and I couldn’t read fast enough.
While reading I got Goosebumps vibes; I feel that this is a darker and more haunting version of Goosebumps and readers who enjoy gothic horror, would devour this series. The ending is epic and Adam and Vic are everything! Did I mention that Death is one of the characters?!

“𝖣𝖾𝖺𝗍𝗁 𝗅𝗈𝗈𝗄𝖾𝖽 𝗎𝗉 𝖿𝗋𝗈𝗆 𝖻𝖾𝗇𝖾𝖺𝗍𝗁 𝖺 𝖻𝗋𝗈𝖺𝖽 𝗌𝗎𝗇 𝗁𝖺𝗍. 𝖫𝗂𝗄𝖾 𝗌𝗁𝖾 𝗇𝖾𝖾𝖽𝖾𝖽 𝗂𝗍. 𝖠𝗌 𝗂𝖿 𝖺𝗇𝗒𝗍𝗁𝗂𝗇𝗀 𝗂𝗇 𝗍𝗁𝖾 𝖼𝗈𝗌𝗆𝗈𝗌 𝖼𝗈𝗎𝗅𝖽 𝗍𝗈𝗎𝖼𝗁 𝗁𝖾𝗋.”

There is a dual POV – Adam and Vic – and the short chapters add to the fast pace and the creepy setting keeps the reader glued to the pages. I could almost picture the scenes while reading and think the artwork of this book would be epic. There are twists and turns, but never a dull moment. With Adam and Vic, you will be on a heart-pounding adventure! I highly recommend this series! Add it to your TBR today.

Many thanks to MTMC Tours and the author for gifting me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

For my creative stop in the tour I decided to make a bookmark inspired by one of the quotes. The quote resonates with me since it’s something I’ve thought about multiple times.
